'technological revolution'

Having researched on the change in technology i came accross this quite absurd article.

Understanding the impact of technology is important, and it sounds (to me) that this journalist simply has a phobia or fear of technology. It seems that, as quoted, ' No, the internet has not transformed most people's lives, just helped them do faster what they did before', it makes me wonder how somebody who works in media, who types on a computer can possibly say this. I understand that technology is simply an extension on previous ideas for example take the iphone, first we had the iphone 3, then iphone 4 and now soon the iphone 5. However, surely he must have considered the impact of newly developped and invented technology on society.. Brain scans? DNA technology? Personally i think technology is a step forward and the idea that it is merely a simple extension from a hundred years ago is ridiculous! I'd like to see Simon Jenkins live in a victorian village, without the technology..

who agrees?
